Casa Milan and the Mondo Milan Museum

Casa Milan is AC Milan’s headquarters at Via Aldo Rossi 8, in the Fiera Milano City / Portello district north-west of the centre, and it holds the Mondo Milan museum, the club store, a ticket office, a bistrot and the Puma Cage. The museum is the reason to make the trip: it is open every day 10:00–19:00, last entry 18:00, and a fixed-date adult ticket costs €20 according to the official site (acmilan.com).

Mondo Milan Museum tickets: the full price list

The official ticket structure has more categories than any partner sells, so it is worth reading before you buy anywhere.

What is inside the Mondo Milan Museum

The exhibition covers 125 years, from the Milan Football & Cricket Club to the European trophies, across more than 1,000 m² — the official figures are more than 40 display cases, 20 monitors and 14 large touch screens, which tells you it is a modern, screen-heavy museum rather than a dusty trophy hall.

The centrepiece is the Trophy Room: 42 trophies in a single space, with a replica Champions League cup 3 m tall, 800 kg in weight and 680 hours of craftsmanship standing in the middle, plus five Ballon d’Or awards. Around it sit match-worn shirts, rare memorabilia and interviews, and a route through the Rossoneri careers of the 100 most significant players in the club’s history.

Allow an hour to ninety minutes. Children have their own signposted path, and the touch screens carry the visit for anyone who does not read Italian.

Beyond the museum, the same building holds the AC Milan Store Casa Milan (the largest of the club’s shops, alongside the Via Dante flagship, San Babila, San Siro and Malpensa T1), the Casa Milan Bistrot, and the ticket office where you can also buy match tickets and the All In One Pass in person.

How Casa Milan differs from San Siro

They answer different questions. Casa Milan answers “what has this club won and how”; San Siro answers “what does the ground feel like”.

The stadium tour costs almost twice as much and is the more memorable hour if you only do one. Casa Milan is the better pick on a Monday, in bad weather, on a match day when the stadium tour is shut, or if you are a Milan supporter rather than a football tourist.

Both in one day, properly sequenced

The M5 does the work. Mondo Milan opens at 10:00 and is quiet in the first hour — do it then, with the store afterwards. Walk back to Portello, ride to San Siro Stadio, and take an early-afternoon Museum & Tour slot; the ride is four stops and under ten minutes.

Two things to check first. One: the San Siro opening calendar, because a fixture that day can close the stadium tour entirely and there is no point buying the pass. Two: whether you want the Skywalk, which runs March to October and is €11 added to a San Siro tour ticket rather than €26 alone.

How to get to Casa Milan

Metro M5 (lilac) to Portello is the closest stop. M1 (red) to Lotto also works and is the better option if you are coming along the red line. Buses 48 (Viale Serra / Viale Scarampo), 68 (Via Albani / Piazza Stuparich), 69 (Viale Certosa / Viale Serra) and 90 (Viale Serra / Via Traiano) all stop within a short walk. By car it is five minutes from the Viale Certosa exit of the A4 urban section.

From the airports, the official routes are: Linate — bus 73 to San Babila, then M1 to Lotto – Fiera Milano City; Malpensa — Malpensa Express to Cadorna, then M1 towards Rho Fiera to Lotto, or a suburban S3/S4 to Domodossola; Bergamo Orio al Serio — shuttle to Milano Centrale, M2 to Cadorna, M1 to Lotto.

From Piazza del Duomo it is roughly 25 minutes: M1 to Lotto, or M3 and M5 via Garibaldi.

Nearby, and whether to bother

Portello is a business district, not a sightseeing one, so build the trip around football rather than around the neighbourhood. Parco Portello’s grassed spirals sit behind the building, the Fiera Milano City conference site is next door, and the Cimitero Monumentale is three M5 stops away in the other direction if you want something unexpected afterwards.
