Milan Tour Operators and Ticket Platforms

Search for Milan tour operators and you get a wall of near-identical pages selling the same Duomo ticket at four different prices. The Milan market is actually quite simple once you see its four layers: the venues themselves, the big international booking platforms, licensed local operators who run the tours, and content sites that take a commission for sending you to one of the above. This page is the map, with a review of each seller behind the links.

Layer 1: the official channels

Duomo di Milano. The Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo runs its own ticket office on Piazza del Duomo and its own online shop, covering the cathedral, the terraces (stairs or lift), the Duomo Museum, San Gottardo and the archaeological area. Official prices are the lowest you will find, and the “Duomo Pass” combinations are only sold here. The trade-off is queues on the square and no bundled guiding. Cenacolo Vinciano (The Last Supper). Official tickets are sold exclusively through Vivaticket — online at the Cenacolo’s booking site, by call centre, or by email for groups of ten or more, according to cenacolovinciano.org. Releases happen in batches months ahead and disappear within minutes; free first-Sunday places go online at noon on the preceding Wednesday. Teatro alla Scala. Opera and ballet seats are sold by the theatre’s own box office and website, with a separate ticket for the Museo Teatrale alla Scala. Platforms resell the museum and guided visits, not the good seats for the season. Details on our La Scala page.

San Siro (Stadio Giuseppe Meazza). The stadium tour and museum are sold by the venue’s official operator and resold by the platforms; match tickets come from AC Milan and Inter directly. Tour access is cut or closed on match days.

Layer 2: the international booking platforms

Tiqets — our primary partner. Founded in 2014, it works with more than 4,000 venue partners and delivers everything as an instant smartphone ticket that also opens offline; support runs in 16+ languages, according to the company’s own about page. Milan strength: direct Duomo inventory, timed terrace slots, and “Duomo + X” bundles at 5% off. Weak spot: many Milan tickets are non-refundable — the product page says so plainly. Tiqets review.

GetYourGuide — our second partner, used where Tiqets has no product. Broader on tours and day trips than on plain museum entry, with the deepest review counts in Milan (tens of thousands on the Duomo terraces listing) and free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start on most activities, shown per product. Viator. The Tripadvisor-owned marketplace, very large and very mixed: the same Milan tour can appear from several suppliers at different prices, and quality tracks the supplier rather than the platform. Useful for finding an operator, less useful for judging one. Viator review.

Civitatis. A Spanish-language-first marketplace that has grown its English catalogue, strong on free tours and Spanish-guided Milan walks. Prices are competitive; the guiding is subcontracted to local operators. Civitatis review.

Musement. Italian-founded and now part of the TUI group, with good coverage of Italian museums and city cards and a tidy Italian-market presence. Catalogue depth in Milan is narrower than the two leaders. Musement review.

Headout. A mobile-first platform with a compact, curated catalogue rather than an exhaustive one, and its own network of destination microsites — tickets-milan.com among them. Headout review.

Klook. Asia-Pacific-focused, useful mainly if you are already in its ecosystem for flights, rail and eSIMs; Milan coverage is thinner and mostly resold. Klook review.

Platform comparison

Read that Cancellation column as a tendency, not a promise. Windows are set by the supplier, not by the platform, and they differ product by product — so the only version that binds you is the one printed on the checkout page next to the price. Screenshot it before you pay. Several of these platforms serve their policy pages behind a bot filter, which means we cannot re-read them on a schedule; a timed-entry museum ticket is very often non-refundable even on a platform whose tours are freely cancellable, and that is the case that catches people out.

Layer 3: operators who actually run the tours

LivTours. A premium operator selling small-group and private guided experiences across Italian cities including Milan, trading on limited group sizes and hand-picked guides. Booking is direct on its own site; prices sit well above marketplace equivalents. LivTours review.

Walks of Italy. One of the original premium walking-tour brands in Italy, now part of a larger tours group, with Duomo and Last Supper itineraries in Milan. Expect strong guiding, small caps and premium pricing. Walks of Italy review.

Milan Private Tours. A local outfit built around private guiding — city walks, Duomo, Last Supper, Lake Como — priced per group rather than per person, which can work out well for four or more people. Milan Private Tours review.

Layer 4: the Italian-market guide networks

These sell mainly to Italians, in Italian, at prices that will surprise anyone used to international tour pricing — Milanoguida lists most of its visits between roughly €13 and €30 per person. If you speak Italian, this is the value tier in Milan.

Milanoguida. The largest of them: a full calendar of guided visits to exhibitions, museums, churches, parks and neighbourhoods, plus coach trips out of the city, bookable through its own calendar. Website and most visits in Italian. Milanoguida review.

Mi Guidi. A Milan operator founded by Luisa Oriani, selling guided visits and exhibition tours, day trips out of the city, and full weekend and travel packages, all from a published calendar, with a corporate programme and gift vouchers alongside. The site and its listings are in Italian only, so treat it as an Italian-language operator unless you ask and are told otherwise. Mi Guidi review.

Scoprire Milano. Operating since 2012, with eight itinerary families — architecture, art history, churches and basilicas, monuments, museums, exhibitions, trips outside Milan, and cycling routes — booked through its own calendar or by email. Mostly Italian, with some English departures. Scoprire Milano review.

Mosaicus. The national sister platform to Milanoguida, extending the same model of scheduled cultural visits to other Italian art cities. Useful if you are pairing Milan with Turin, Bologna or Florence. Mosaicus review.

TourWeavers. A smaller Italian operator that appears in Milan listings for guided Duomo visits, but whose own website we could not reach on 10 September 2026 over either http or https, with an expired TLS certificate behind it. Free tours

GuruWalk. A marketplace for tip-based walking tours: you reserve a place for nothing and pay the guide what you think it was worth at the end. It lists 14 free tours in Milan in English, Spanish, Italian, German and French, most starting in Piazza del Duomo. GuruWalk review.

Cuore Tours. A small free-tour brand that worked the same tip-based model in Milan, but its domain now resolves to a registrar parking page advertising the name at auction, which is not what a trading operator looks like. Two rules for any free tour: it never includes an entry ticket, and the guide’s income is your tip. Budget €10–15 per person.

The bus operator

City Sightseeing Milano. The red open-top hop-on hop-off network, sold in 24, 48 and 72-hour versions and resold by both our partners. Niche ticket sites and travel media

tickets-milan.com. A destination microsite powered by Headout, selling Duomo, Last Supper, Sforza Castle, Leonardo museums, Villa Necchi, QC Terme and transfers. The inventory is Headout’s; the domain name is marketing. tickets-milan.com review.

lastsupperticket.com. A single-attraction information site for the Cenacolo, which states clearly that it is independent and not affiliated with the museum or its official vendor, and routes you to official or third-party sellers. lastsupperticket.com review.

milantips.com. An English-language Milan guide monetised through affiliate links, mainly to GetYourGuide and hotel sites. Editorial, not a seller. milantips.com review.

Untold Italy. An Australian-run Italy blog and podcast with paid planning products and its own small-group tours, and affiliate links elsewhere. Good for trip shape, not for ticket logistics. Untold Italy review.

So who should you book with?

• Duomo cathedral, terraces or museum, dates flexible — official box office. Sold out or short on time: a partner ticket with a timed slot.
• The Last Supper — try Vivaticket the moment a release opens. Miss it and a guided tour is the only remaining route.
• A guide who will answer questions — a small-group product on a platform, or a premium operator if budget allows.
• Italian-speaking, curious, on a budget — Milanoguida or Scoprire Milano.
• First morning, no plan — a free tour plus a hop-on hop-off ticket.

Whichever of these Milan tour operators you pick, the decision that matters is timing, not brand: book the Cenacolo the day tickets are released, put a Duomo terrace slot in the calendar, and leave the rest for when you arrive.
