MiGuidi Review

MiGuidi is one of the Milan operators an English-speaking visitor will meet only by accident — a search for a visita guidata to the Cenacolo, a friend in Milan forwarding a link. It sells scheduled Italian-language guided visits in the city, day trips out of Lombardy, longer cultural journeys, and private events for companies. Understanding what it is saves you from a wasted booking, and its Milan prices are worth knowing as a benchmark.

Who they are, precisely

The brand is often filed under “licensed guides collective”. The site does not make that claim. Its own about page says MiGuidi began in Milan as a project for discovering the city, has grown into Italian and international itineraries, and describes itself as a “cultural integrator of experiences” rather than a traditional travel agency — every experience designed in-house, delivered with guides and partners chosen individually. The founder is named on the homepage as Luisa Oriani.

The footer is more useful than the prose. The operator is Costanza S.R.L.S., Via Stresa 6, 20125 Milan, VAT 10201810966, which runs its own travel agency, Costanza Viaggi, under Milan licence 0022633, with a UnipolSai liability policy and a Nobis guarantee fund. That is the structure of a small licensed Italian tour operator — which is what matters when you pay for a coach day out. The licence it publishes is the travel agency’s, though, not the guides’: the site says only that guides and partners are chosen individually for their expertise, and it never states that they hold the regional tourist-guide licence. If your visit goes inside a museum or monument where a licensed guide is required, ask which licence the guide holds before you book.

What a visit costs

Two things stand out. First, the €38 Cenacolo visit is the cheapest guided route to the Last Supper we have found anywhere — and it was already sold out for both listed dates when we looked, which is the whole story of that painting. Second, the €29 rooftop and €30 Galleria roof visits undercut every equivalent Duomo rooftop or Highline product on the international platforms, because they are guiding fees to an Italian audience rather than packaged tourist products.

Booking and refunds

You book through the site with a cart and an optional account; the footer shows Visa, Mastercard, American Express and PayPal. Office hours are Monday to Friday 10:30–13:30 and 15:30–18:30, with weekends handled by email, on 328 3846632.

The refund page is where MiGuidi differs sharply from platform terms:

• City guided visits — full refund if you ask at least 6 days ahead; 50% penalty between 6 and 4 days; nothing inside 48 hours.
• Day trips — 90% refund up to 40 days before departure, nothing afterwards, but you may pass your place to another person.

A six-day window is long by any standard, and it is the single strongest argument for booking a platform product if your dates might move. Compare it with the 24-hour free-cancellation norm described on our GetYourGuide review.

Reviews are published on the operator’s own site — a paginated wall of them, mostly about the multi-day journeys and repeatedly naming the same guide. They are first-party and not independently verifiable, so treat them as testimonials rather than as a rating. There is a Tripadvisor page under the name Mi Guidi for Milan, but Tripadvisor refused our automated checks, so we are not quoting a score or a review count from it; we found no Trustpilot profile we could read. If an independent score matters to you, open the Tripadvisor listing yourself and see how recent the reviews are.

Group size and language

Neither is published on the listings. Places are limited — several dates showed “ultimi posti” with a count in single figures — but no maximum is stated, and no listing carries a language field. Everything on the site is written in Italian, including the descriptions, the terms and the newsletter, and no listing offers an English departure. Assume the visits are in Italian and that the group is as big as the booking system allows. If you need English, or a cap you can rely on, ask the office in writing — MiGuidi also sells private and corporate visits, which is the route where those things get agreed — and treat anything you are told verbally as unconfirmed until it is in the email.

Verdict

Good value, wrong language for most visitors. If you read Italian and you live in or near Milan, MiGuidi is a genuine option: unusual subjects, exclusive access to buildings that are not otherwise open, and prices that make a fortnightly habit affordable. The strict six-day refund line is the price of those small groups.
