Civitatis is a Spanish booking platform for tours, day trips, guided visits and transfers, and it is the dominant name in Spanish-language travel commerce. Its own about page describes it as the leading online distributor of activities, excursions and guided tours in Spanish; it was founded in Madrid in 2008 by Alberto Gutiérrez Pascual, and is now run by CEO Andrés Spitzer. For Milan that positioning matters more than catalogue size: if your search starts with “entradas Duomo Milán” or “catedral de Milán”, Civitatis is built for you in a way the English-first platforms are not. Its own about pages state neither the founding year nor a registered address, so those come from the company’s public profile.

Who they are, in numbers they publish

The site claims a 9.10 out of 10 rating from more than five million customer reviews and advertises 24/7 customer service. Independently, Trustpilot shows a 4.5 out of 5 TrustScore from 192,904 reviews, with 77% five-star and 5% one-star ratings, and the company replying to almost all critical reviews within a day (checked September 2026). Reviewers praise guides and organisation; the recurring complaint is communication when a service is cancelled or not running — a confirmation that arrives for a tour that then does not operate.

Languages, and why that is the point

Civitatis operates in Spanish with Argentine and Mexican variants, plus English, French, Italian and Portuguese for both Brazil and Portugal. The Milan catalogue reflects it: Spanish-guided city walks, Spanish-guided visits to Santa Maria delle Grazie and the Castello Sforzesco, a free tip-based walking tour, and a Spanish-language sightseeing bus commentary.

That is a genuine gap-filler. Most Milan guided products on the big international platforms run in English and Italian first; on the Tiqets feed, Spanish guiding appears on some products and not others.

Most Milan listings we opened carried a “free cancellation” flag, but that is a product-level setting, not a company guarantee.

Payment is taken immediately by credit or debit card or PayPal, confirmation is immediate, and some services are sold with a deposit and the balance paid on arrival. Vouchers arrive by email — occasionally from the supplier rather than from Civitatis — and the general conditions warn that departure times cannot be changed, so the voucher time is fixed. When Civitatis suits, and when it does not

It suits Spanish-speaking travellers who want a guide in Spanish, a first-morning orientation walk, or a packaged Lake Como day trip in their own language, and anyone who values one account with 24/7 support in Spanish.

It suits less well the traveller whose Milan list is really three timed tickets: cathedral, terraces, Cenacolo. Timed entry is where attraction-first platforms are strongest, and where a non-refundable slot bought at the right hour beats a flexible booking at the wrong one. Verdict

Strengths: the best Spanish-language experience in the market, wide Milan walk and day-trip coverage, immediate confirmation, 24/7 support, strong independent review scores. Watch-outs: cancellation terms are per activity rather than company-wide, guiding is subcontracted to local operators, and we cannot verify its prices from a feed, so compare before you commit. Bottom line: a sound choice for a Spanish-guided Milan tour, and a weaker one for the timed cathedral tickets that decide most itineraries.
