Italian OTA, now part of TUI

Musement Review: The Milan-Born Booking Platform

Musement is an online travel agency founded in Milan in 2013 and owned by TUI Group since 2018. It sells the same categories of Milan ticket as our partners, but its cancellation terms are set supplier by supplier rather than by the platform — and that is the difference that decides when to use it.

Musement is the platform Milan built. Founded here in 2013, it grew into one of Italy’s better-known booking sites before TUI Group bought it, and it still sells Milan the way a company headquartered a few tram stops from the Duomo would: broad Italian coverage, clean product pages, no attempt to be a marketplace of everything.

We have no commercial relationship with Musement. This review exists because readers ask how it compares, and because on some Milan products it is a reasonable place to look.

Who Musement is

Musement was founded in Milan in 2013 by Alessandro Petazzi, Claudio Bellinzona, Paolo Giulini and Fabio Zecchini. TUI Group announced the acquisition on 14 September 2018, at which point the company described tens of thousands of activities across 1,100 cities and about a million monthly users, with offices in Milan, Barcelona, Dubai, London, New York, Paris and Amsterdam.

The legal entity is Musement S.p.A., registered at via Polesine 13 in Milan, holding an online travel agency licence from Regione Lombardia, according to its own terms and conditions. Since the acquisition it has also traded as TUI Musement, the group’s tours-and-activities arm. TUI itself is a Hanover-based travel group with tens of thousands of staff worldwide.

That ownership is the most useful thing to know about it. A platform inside a package-holiday group sells excursions to people who have already bought a trip, which shapes the catalogue more than any consumer-facing feature does.

What it sells in Milan

The same categories our partners cover: cathedral and museum entry, guided walking tours, canal boat trips, day trips to the lakes, airport transfers and spa admissions. Being Italian-founded, its Italian inventory is unsurprisingly one of its stronger regions.

We opened the catalogue in September 2026: 152 Milan experiences, with 21 filed under the Duomo di Milano and 14 under the Cenacolo Vinciano — a mid-sized Milan shelf rather than a thin one. Prices there are shown in the currency of the storefront you land on, so the same guided Cenacolo visit reads €49 on the Italian site and a dollar figure on the US one. Treat any Milan price you see quoted for Musement elsewhere on the web with suspicion, and read it on the storefront you will actually pay on.

What we can compare properly is policy, delivery and the terms you agree to when you pay. Those are published, and they are where platforms actually differ.

Policies: the comparison that holds up

Cancellation. Musement’s terms place cancellation and no-show policy with the supplier and recommend you read it before reserving; there is no platform-wide free-cancellation promise. GetYourGuide, by contrast, applies free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start on most activities. Tiqets is per product, and in Milan that cuts both ways: 27 of the 74 products we track are non-refundable from purchase, while 25 cancel free up to 24 hours before the time slot.

None of those three is wrong. But if flexibility is what you are buying, a platform-level default is easier to rely on than a supplier-level one.

Ticket delivery. Musement’s terms say the voucher to redeem your ticket is emailed immediately once the order and payment are accepted, and that on some products the supplier issues the electronic ticket instead. Tiqets delivers an instant mobile ticket that opens offline on every Milan product we track. In practice that offline barcode is what you want in the Duomo security queue.

Support. Musement publishes a help centre at helpcenter.musement.com, an email address and UK and US phone numbers — more direct routes than most platforms in this category offer. Trustpilot reviewers note that the company replies to the large majority of negative reviews.

What reviewers say

On Trustpilot, Musement holds 4.0 out of 5 from 32,304 reviews, labelled Great, with 62% five-star and 7% one-star, checked September 2026. For context, on the same platform Tiqets holds 4.3 from 60,729 reviews and GetYourGuide 3.9 from 55,939.

Reviewers most often praise straightforward booking and prices they felt were fair with no hidden charges; the recurring criticism concerns confusion when selecting booking dates. That is a mild complaint profile by the standards of this sector.

When to use it, and when not to

Use Musement when it lists a Milan activity our partners do not carry, or when you are already booking with TUI and want the excursions on the same invoice. It is a real travel agency with a licence and a phone number, not a scraped affiliate page.

Compare before you commit on the products where the market is crowded. The Duomo di Milano is the clearest example: cathedral entry is €11.50, terraces €19, both together €26, fast track €39 and a full guided tour €69 on both Tiqets and GetYourGuide, with 16 Duomo ticket options on Tiqets alone. Prices checked September 2026. Our Duomo tickets page sets those against the official price.

Go elsewhere for the Last Supper. Official tickets exist only through Vivaticket at €15, and every guided alternative — from €79 on GetYourGuide, €95 on Tiqets — is an operator allocation. Read our Last Supper guide before you book any of them.

Verdict

Musement is a credible Italian OTA with an ownership story that makes sense and terms that are honest about what they do not promise. It is not our partner, and nothing here is a reason to avoid it.

It is also not the platform we would send a first-time Milan visitor to, for one concrete reason: cancellation sits with each supplier, so you have to read the fine print on every product rather than trusting a default. For attraction entry we would rather have Tiqets’ offline mobile ticket and deep Duomo inventory, and for flexibility GetYourGuide’s 24-hour window. Our operators and platforms overview puts all of them side by side, and tickets and passes covers the city cards none of them explain well.

Questions people ask

01

Is Musement a legitimate company?

Yes. It trades as Musement S.p.A. with a registered office at via Polesine 13 in Milan and an online travel agency licence issued by Regione Lombardia, according to its own terms and conditions. It has been part of TUI Group since 2018. On Trustpilot it holds 4.0 out of 5 from 32,304 reviews, labelled Great, checked September 2026.

02

Who owns Musement?

TUI Group, the Hanover-based travel company, which announced the acquisition on 14 September 2018. Musement had been founded in Milan in 2013 by Alessandro Petazzi, Claudio Bellinzona, Paolo Giulini and Fabio Zecchini. It now also trades under the TUI Musement brand.

03

What is Musement's cancellation policy?

There is no single platform-wide rule. Its terms state that cancellation and no-show policies belong to the supplier, and it recommends reading them before you book. That differs from GetYourGuide, where free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start is the default on most activities.

04

How does Musement compare with Tiqets and GetYourGuide in Milan?

All three sell the same broad categories: attraction entry, guided tours, day trips and transfers. The practical differences are policy and depth — Tiqets has the widest direct Duomo di Milano inventory with 16 ticket options, GetYourGuide has the largest review samples and a 24-hour cancellation default, and Musement leaves cancellation to each supplier.

05

How do I receive a Musement ticket?

By email. Its terms say that once the order and payment are accepted, a voucher to redeem the ticket is sent by email immediately; on some products the supplier issues the electronic ticket instead. Support runs through helpcenter.musement.com, support@musement.com and UK and US phone lines.

06

When should I use Musement for Milan?

When it lists a Milan activity our partners do not carry, or when you are already booking a TUI holiday and want everything on one invoice. For the Duomo, the Cenacolo Vinciano and the main museums, compare it against the prices on this site first — those are the products where a few euros and a cancellation window are easy to check.

07

Does Musement sell official Last Supper tickets?

No platform does. Official Cenacolo Vinciano tickets are sold only through Vivaticket at €15, and every other seller — Musement included — is offering an operator's allocation bundled with a guide. Its Cenacolo page listed 14 experiences when we checked it in September 2026: guided visits from €49, a last-minute guided visit at €59, others at €75 and €99, a three-hour city walk with entry at €90, and a €3.50 audio guide that includes no ticket at all.
